Music & Productivity

Music is an expressive form of art, an accessible vibe no matter wherever you are! It is an entertaining resource to optimize the boring. 🎵
Speaking of which, let me ask y’all, If you can spare a minute out of your tasks to write me a line or two about your Thoughts on “Music & Productivity”?
— How exactly does music help boost your mood and enhance your performance?
— Does it help push us to be more efficient at workplace? 🤔
I carried out a fun one minute task for my colleagues, asking them the same question. And surprisingly, all of them replied saying;
✔ “It helps focus on things.”
✔ “I feel energetic and its helps me to complete my task.”
✔ “Listening to music during activities increases the efficiency of that activity and eliminates fatigue. Music is perceived to be motivating and can heighten the intensity. It increases your working capacity and can give you ultra-high of explosiveness and productivity.”
✔ “While listening to music and doing my task simultaneously, i felt free, less stressed. Resulting into enjoying music and work, both at the same time. And when after lunch, i feel sleepy 😴 listening to music, energizes my brain, making a task seem more interesting.”
We must’ve witnessed at some point of time that, a noisy workplace may halt productivity in its path, therefore, a distracting factor. Deep basses and screeching synths might get you energized, but when engaging in deep work, you might favor a more mellow sound.
Researches have shown that a moderate noise level can really get your creative juices flowing! Hmm, that sounds interesting!
Also modern studies suggests, that the ‘improved’ mood that your favorite music creates is the source of enhancement in productivity. Which means,
👉 GOOD MUSIC → GOOD MOOD → ACCELERATING PRODUCTIVITY
Music help to keep focused and increase accuracy. I personally count myself more productive when listening music while work.
The so-called “Mozart effect” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JmprpRIsEY) traces back to a 1990s-era experiment involving just 36 college students.
Researchers found that after listening to one of the composer’s sonatas, participants were better able to complete spatial tasks — although the effect only lasted for about 15 minutes.
Nevertheless, a pair of headphones, with your favourite tracks on shuffle is always an effective, stress-relieving getaway! 😉
